The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the largest global society for computing professionals, researchers, and educators. It aims to unite the computing community to foster dialogue, share resources, and tackle challenges in the field.

ACM supports its more than 100,000 members worldwide through various initiatives, including promoting high standards, recognizing technical achievements, and offering opportunities for lifelong learning and professional networking. The organization’s global reach is expanding, with dedicated councils in Europe, India, and China.

ACM is a global scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the art, science, engineering, and application of computing, serving both professional and public interests by fostering the open exchange of information and by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.

About Our Chapter

The University of Winnipeg ACM Student Chapter is a community dedicated to helping students learn, connect, and grow within the technology world. Our chapter offers a variety of engaging activities designed to enhance your skills and expand your network.

Throughout the year, we will hold hands-on workshops on the latest technologies and innovations. You’ll also have the opportunity to put your problem-solving abilities to the test during exciting coding sessions and hackathons. Beyond technical skills, we host networking events and guest lectures where you can meet professionals, faculty, and fellow students who share your enthusiasm for computing.

General membership is open and free to all University of Winnipeg students, regardless of their academic program. Whether you are a computer science major or simply curious about technology, our chapter provides a welcoming environment for you to explore, create, and succeed in the tech community.
